Portuné Engineering Service GmbH (PES) developed a high-precision tool on behalf of a customer: a hole punch tool for copper cables. This new tool is specifically designed to insert precise holes with a diameter of 10.5 mm into copper cable strands.
Punching holes at the end of cables is an important step in electrical installation. The punchings enable the cables to be securely and reliably attached to electrical control points.
Precise perforation ensures an excellent electrical connection.Compared to traditional methods such as drilling, a hole punch tool offers several advantages:
- speed: The processing speed is up to three times faster than drilling.
- Tolerance accuracy: The tool ensures precise results, which is crucial for the quality of the cable connections.
- Shorter setup times: Efficient tool changeover and preparation saves time during setup.
- longevity: By using hardened material, the tool has an increased service life and therefore offers improved cost efficiency.
